Job Description
We are seeking experienced and reliable Dump Truck Drivers to join our construction teams on various projects in the Long Beach, CA area. As a crucial part of our operations, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of materials such as dirt, sand, gravel, and asphalt to and from construction sites. This role requires adherence to strict safety protocols, timely deliveries, and the ability to operate heavy equipment with precision. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a dump truck to transport construction materials to and from designated sites.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, reporting any defects or issues immediately.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local traffic laws and company safety regulations.
- Load and unload materials responsibly, ensuring proper weight distribution and secure containment.
- Coordinate with site supervisors, dispatchers, and other team members to ensure efficient project workflow.
- Maintain accurate logbooks and delivery records.
- Perform minor maintenance and cleaning of the vehicle as needed.
- Operate other heavy equipment on site as required and qualified.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Clean driving record (MVR) for the past 3-5 years
- Proven experience operating dump trucks in a construction environment
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including climbing, lifting, and repetitive movements
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety protocols
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, as project demands require.
Preferred Qualifications
- HAZMAT endorsement (not strictly required but a plus)
- Experience with various types of construction materials (dirt, asphalt, aggregates)
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
- Previous experience working on large-scale civil or heavy highway projects.
