Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and energetic Casual General Hand to join our dynamic team in Whistler. This is an immediate opening for a Monday-Friday schedule, offering an excellent opportunity for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are eager to contribute to the smooth operation of our prestigious resort. The successful candidate will perform a variety of tasks to support various departments, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and efficiency. This role is perfect for someone reliable, physically fit, and ready to jump in and assist wherever needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, and waste removal, to maintain a pristine environment.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of event spaces, moving and arranging furniture, equipment, and supplies as required.
- Support the Housekeeping, Engineering, and F&B departments with various ad-hoc tasks and projects.
- Conduct minor maintenance tasks and report any larger issues to the appropriate department for resolution.
- Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Operate basic cleaning equipment and tools safely and effectively.
- Assist with inventory management and organization of storage areas.
- Provide support to guests and colleagues with a positive and helpful attitude.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong work ethic and a proactive approach to tasks.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic communication skills to interact with colleagues and supervisors.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a positive attitude.
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a general hand, labour, or hospitality role.
- Knowledge of basic safety procedures and use of cleaning chemicals.
- First Aid and/or CPR certification.
- A desire to learn and develop new skills within the hospitality industry.
