Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious FedEx Certified Forklift Driver to join our dynamic team in South Gate, CA. This immediate opening offers the chance to play a critical role in our warehousing operations, ensuring the accurate and timely movement of goods. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience operating various types of forklifts in a fast-paced logistics environment, upholding the highest standards of safety and efficiency as per FedEx guidelines. Your expertise will be crucial in supporting the flow of materials, maintaining inventory accuracy, and contributing to overall operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) safely and efficiently for loading, unloading, stacking, and moving materials.
- Verify inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring accuracy against shipping documents and FedEx protocols.
- Perform daily pre-shift inspections of forklifts and other equipment, reporting any malfunctions or safety concerns.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts, accurate scanning, and placement of products.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company policies and OSHA regulations.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff and supervisors to optimize workflow and meet daily operational targets.
- Adhere strictly to all safety procedures and guidelines, particularly those specific to FedEx cargo handling.
- Handle materials with care to prevent damage to products or property.
Required Skills
- Valid and current FedEx Forklift Certification is mandatory.
- Proven experience operating various forklift types (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach truck).
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Ability to read and interpret shipping labels, manifests, and other relevant documentation.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods.
- Basic computer skills for inventory scanning and data entry.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) such as SAP or Oracle.
- Previous experience in a high-volume logistics or distribution center environment.
- Familiarity with hazmat handling procedures.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed.
