Job Description
Are you a recent graduate with a passion for video games and a keen eye for detail? Electronic Arts is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our New Grad Program as a Quality Assurance Tester. This is an exciting opportunity to kickstart your career in the gaming industry, working alongside experienced professionals to ensure the quality and playability of our next generation of titles. You will be instrumental in identifying bugs, providing critical feedback, and contributing to the overall player experience for some of the world’s most beloved franchises.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute test plans and test cases to identify, reproduce, and report defects in games and related software.
- Document bugs clearly and concisely in a bug-tracking database, including steps to reproduce, expected results, and actual results.
- Perform regression testing, re-testing resolved defects to ensure they remain fixed and do not introduce new issues.
- Provide objective feedback on game features, usability, and overall player experience.
- Collaborate closely with development teams, designers, and producers to understand game features and testing requirements.
- Participate in daily stand-ups and team meetings, contributing to a collaborative and agile development environment.
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of test documentation, including test plans and test cases.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in game quality assurance.
Required Skills
- Recently graduated with a degree in Computer Science, Game Design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- A strong passion for video games across various genres and platforms.
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Basic understanding of software testing principles and methodologies.
- Proficiency with common office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite or Google Workspace).
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps).
- Familiarity with game development cycles and processes.
- Basic knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, C#) or scripting.
- Experience with different gaming platforms (PC, console, mobile).
- A portfolio demonstrating personal projects or involvement in game jams.
