Job Description

Are you a music enthusiast with a knack for sales and customer service? Long & McQuade in Mississauga is looking for a dedicated Music Retail Sales Associate to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be the face of our store, helping customers find the perfect instruments, equipment, and accessories to fuel their musical journeys. You’ll work with a wide range of products, from guitars and drums to recording gear and sheet music, providing expert advice and ensuring a positive shopping experience. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about music to turn their hobby into a career.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist customers with product inquiries, demonstrating product features and benefits.
  • Process sales transactions accurately using our POS system, handle cash, credit, and debit payments.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing sales floor, including restocking and merchandising.
  • Provide expert advice and recommendations on musical instruments, accessories, and audio equipment.
  • Assist with inventory management, including receiving shipments, performing stock counts, and organizing storage areas.
  • Resolve customer issues and complaints professionally and efficiently, escalating when necessary.
  • Stay informed about new products, industry trends, and competitor offerings to better serve customers.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in a retail sales environment, preferably in music or electronics.
  • Strong knowledge of musical instruments and audio equipment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Basic computer proficiency and experience with POS systems.
  • Ability to lift and move merchandise up to 50 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Formal musical training or extensive experience playing a musical instrument.
  • Experience with inventory management software.
  • A passion for music and a desire to help others pursue their musical interests.
