Job Description

As a Lead Teller Associate at Bank of America, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service while guiding and supporting a team of tellers. This position is ideal for individuals with a strong understanding of banking operations, a passion for developing others, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy and efficiency. You will act as a primary point of contact for complex transactions and customer inquiries, ensuring a smooth and positive banking experience. Beyond daily transactions, a key aspect of this role involves active mentorship, coaching junior tellers, and fostering a collaborative and supportive branch environment. This is an on-site, full-time position located in our Charlotte branch.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily teller operations, ensuring compliance with bank policies and procedures.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior teller associates, fostering their professional growth.
  • Handle complex customer transactions, inquiries, and resolve issues efficiently and courteously.
  • Assist in balancing the branch's cash vault and ATMs, ensuring accuracy and security.
  • Conduct regular coaching sessions and performance feedback for teller team members.
  • Identify opportunities to refer customers to other banking specialists for their financial needs.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of all bank products and services.
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through professional and empathetic service.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a teller or customer service role within the financial industry.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and train team members.
  • Strong cash handling and balancing skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using banking software and systems.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • Previous experience as a Head Teller or Senior Teller.
  • Bilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish, Mandarin) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations.
