Job Description
Are you looking for a fulfilling part-time role that contributes to environmental sustainability? Waste Management Inc. is seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our team as a Weekend Recycling Hand at our state-of-the-art modern plant in Fargo. In this role, you will be crucial in sorting and processing recyclable materials, ensuring the efficient operation of our facility. This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, enjoys physical work, and is dedicated to making a positive impact on our community and planet.
Key Responsibilities
- Manually sort various recyclable materials (plastics, paper, glass, metals) on a conveyor belt.
- Identify and remove contaminants from recyclable streams.
- Operate basic plant equipment as directed, after proper training.
- Ensure workstation is clean and organized at all times.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and procedures.
- Assist with general plant cleanup and maintenance tasks.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
Required Skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify different material types.
- Reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Commitment to workplace safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a production, warehouse, or recycling environment is a plus.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Basic understanding of recycling processes.
- Forklift certification (not required, but a bonus).
