Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and reliable Street Sweeper / Cleaner to join our dedicated Environmental Services team at Hull City Council. This stable, full-time position is crucial for maintaining the cleanliness and aesthetic appeal of our streets, parks, and public spaces across Kingston upon Hull. You will play a vital role in ensuring a high standard of public hygiene and contributing to community well-being. This is an on-site position requiring physical presence in various locations throughout the city.
Key Responsibilities
- Manually sweep and clear designated streets, pavements, and public areas.
- Operate street sweeping equipment and vehicles as required, following safety guidelines.
- Collect and dispose of litter, debris, leaves, and other waste materials.
- Empty public waste bins and assist with recycling initiatives.
- Report any hazards, damage, or large waste items requiring specialist attention.
- Work effectively as part of a team to achieve daily cleaning targets.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and council policies.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and prolonged standing/walking.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar cleaning or street maintenance role.
