- PhD or Master's degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related scientific or engineering field.
- Proven experience (3+ years) in hands-on materials research and development, particularly with a direct aerospace or high-performance materials focus.
- Strong theoretical and practical understanding of polymer chemistry, composite materials science, or metallurgy.
- Proficiency in utilizing various material characterization techniques (e.g., FTIR, SEM, TEM, XRD, DSC, DMA, TMA, mechanical testing).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
- Superior written and verbal communication abilities, capable of articulating complex technical information effectively.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented research environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with advanced manufacturing processes for aerospace materials, such as additive manufacturing (3D printing), automated fiber placement, or resin infusion.
- In-depth knowledge of aerospace industry standards, specifications (e.g., ASTM, AMS), and material qualification processes.
- Demonstrated ability to lead research projects or significant work packages from conception through completion.
- Experience with statistical analysis software (e.g., JMP, Minitab) and simulation tools for predicting material behavior.
- A strong publication record or patent portfolio.
Perks & Benefits
- Highly competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance.
- Generous paid time off, holidays, and sick leave policy.
- 401(k) retirement plan with robust company match.
- Relocation assistance package available for eligible out-of-area candidates.
- Abundant opportunities for continuous professional development, training, and career advancement within a leading aerospace company.
