Key Responsibilities

  • Participate actively in all phases of the structured apprenticeship program, including classroom instruction and on-the-job training.
  • Learn and adhere to all safety protocols and company policies related to vehicle operation, package handling, and facility procedures.
  • Assist experienced drivers and logistics personnel with daily delivery and collection routes, ensuring timely and efficient service.
  • Develop proficiency in operating various company vehicles, under supervision and after obtaining necessary certifications.
  • Accurately complete all required paperwork and digital logs for deliveries, pickups, and vehicle maintenance checks.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and provide excellent customer service during interactions with clients and the public.
  • Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized work environment, including vehicles and loading areas.
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement in operational tasks.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to achieve departmental goals.

Required Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Valid state driver's license with a clean driving record (for required driving portions of the role).
  • Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 70 lbs (32 kg).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to all regulations.
  • Punctual and reliable attendance.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Basic computer literacy for logging and reporting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Some prior experience in a customer service or labor-intensive role.
  • Experience with operating commercial vehicles (e.g., box trucks, vans), even if non-professional.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude or interest in vehicle maintenance.
  • Familiarity with local geography of Lexington, KY and surrounding areas.
  • Completion of a vocational training program or related coursework.
