Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Weekend Bindery Aide to join our team in Stockton, CA. This part-time position is ideal for individuals looking for stable weekend employment within the fast-paced publishing sector. As a Bindery Aide, you will play a vital role in the finishing department, assisting with the operation of bindery equipment, ensuring product quality, and preparing materials for shipment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality work, even if you are new to the industry. Full training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist bindery machine operators with feeding, off-loading, and jogging materials.
  • Perform quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet specifications.
  • Inspect materials for defects and report any issues to the operator or supervisor.
  • Sort, stack, and pack finished goods according to established procedures.
  • Help maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support bindery operations.

Required Skills

  • Ability to read and understand basic instructions in English.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs unassisted.
  • Reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Basic mathematical skills for counting and sorting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, production, or bindery environment.
  • Familiarity with printing or bindery equipment.
