Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Urgent Care Porter to join our fast-paced healthcare team in Swansea. This is an immediate start position with a swift recruitment process, ideal for individuals who are keen to make a direct contribution to patient care and hospital operations. As a Porter, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of our urgent care services by facilitating the movement of patients, equipment, and supplies. Your efficiency and compassionate approach will be vital to supporting our medical professionals and providing comfort to patients during critical times.
Key Responsibilities
- Transport patients safely and efficiently between wards, departments, and examination areas, often in wheelchairs, beds, or trolleys.
- Move equipment, specimens, medical records, and other materials as required throughout the hospital.
- Assist with the transfer of deceased patients to the mortuary, maintaining dignity and respect.
- Respond promptly to requests for urgent portering services.
- Ensure equipment is clean, maintained, and readily available for use.
- Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, including infection control protocols.
- Provide compassionate and supportive interaction with patients and their families.
- Work collaboratively with clinical and non-clinical staff to ensure a seamless service.

- Good physical fitness to handle manual tasks and prolonged standing/walking.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a portering role, preferably within a healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of hospital layout and procedures.
