Job Description

Are you passionate about music and have a keen ear for emerging talent? We’re seeking dedicated and discerning Remote Music Reviewers to join our A&R scouting team. This is a unique opportunity to listen to unreleased tracks across various genres, provide detailed feedback, and help us discover the next generation of musical stars. This position is 100% remote, allowing you to work from the comfort of your own home.

Key Responsibilities

  • Listen attentively to a diverse pipeline of unreleased musical tracks from independent and developing artists.
  • Provide clear, constructive, and objective feedback on musical elements including melody, rhythm, lyrics, production quality, and overall potential.
  • Rate tracks based on a provided rubric, ensuring consistency and adherence to our evaluation criteria.
  • Identify potential hit songs, unique artists, and emerging trends within the music landscape.
  • Complete review assignments within specified deadlines.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding all unreleased music and artist information.
  • Participate in occasional virtual team meetings to discuss insights and trends.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional ear for music across multiple genres (e.g., Pop, Rock, Hip-Hop, R&B, Electronic, Indie).
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent written communication skills for providing detailed feedback.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
  • Reliable internet connection and access to quality audio equipment (headphones/speakers).
  • Passion for discovering new music and understanding market trends.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in music journalism, blogging, A&R, or music curation.
  • Background in music production, composition, or audio engineering.
  • Knowledge of current music industry trends and artist development processes.
  • Familiarity with various digital audio workstations (DAWs) or music analysis software.
  • Degree in Music, Communications, or a related field.
