Job Description

As an SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for providing high-quality education and support to students with a diverse range of special educational needs. You will develop and implement individualized learning plans, work collaboratively with parents and other professionals, and contribute to an inclusive school environment. This role is open to talented educators from around the world, with visa sponsorship available for eligible candidates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons for students with SEN.
  • Develop and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs) or EHCPs in line with student needs and school policies.
  • Assess, monitor, record, and report on the progress of students with SEN.
  • Collaborate with parents, carers, teaching assistants, and external agencies to ensure holistic support for students.
  • Manage and lead a team of teaching assistants allocated to specific students or groups.
  • Contribute to the school's SEN provision, policies, and professional development.
  • Ensure a safe, stimulating, and supportive learning environment for all students.

Required Skills

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognized teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience working with students with a range of special educational needs (e.g., ASD, dyslexia, ADHD, SLD).
  • Strong knowledge of the UK SEN Code of Practice or equivalent national guidelines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to differentiate curriculum and teaching methods effectively.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and student well-being.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Postgraduate qualification in Special Educational Needs (e.g., NASENCo, PG Cert SEN).
  • Experience with specific SEN interventions or therapeutic approaches.
  • Experience in a UK school setting is desirable but not essential for visa-sponsored candidates.
  • Knowledge of various assessment tools for SEN.
