Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and professional Tractor Trailer Operator for regional routes based out of our Pasadena, CA facility. This is a full-time position offering excellent medical and dental benefits. As a key member of our transportation team, you will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of goods, operating commercial motor vehicles in accordance with all DOT regulations and company policies. Key Responsibilities

  • Operate tractor-trailer combinations for regional deliveries, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, reporting any defects or malfunctions.
  • Safely load, unload, and secure cargo, ensuring proper weight distribution and adherence to load limits.
  • Maintain accurate electronic logs (ELD) and complete all required paperwork.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Represent Ryder in a professional manner at all times.

Required Skills

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A)
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
  • Proficient in operating various types of tractor-trailer equipment
  • Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety protocols
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to perform physical tasks associated with loading/unloading and vehicle inspection

Preferred Qualifications

  • Tanker endorsement (N) or Hazmat endorsement (H)
  • Experience with electronic logging devices (ELDs)
  • Familiarity with regional routes in Southern California
  • Forklift operation experience
