Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced HVAC Technician to join our Facilities Management team, specifically supporting our corporate buildings in the New Port Richey area. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. Your expertise will ensure optimal environmental conditions and energy efficiency across our corporate facilities, directly impacting employee comfort and operational continuity. This is an on-site position requiring hands-on work and attention to detail in a dynamic corporate setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on all HVAC systems, including inspecting, cleaning, and calibrating components.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues in HVAC units, including chillers, boilers, air handling units, and refrigeration equipment.
- Execute repairs and replacements of faulty components such as compressors, motors, thermostats, and circuit boards.
- Install new HVAC systems and related components in accordance with blueprints, specifications, and local codes.
- Monitor building automation systems (BAS) to ensure optimal system performance and energy efficiency.
- Respond promptly to service requests and emergency breakdowns to minimize disruption to corporate operations.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance, repair, and installation activities.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
- Collaborate with other facilities staff and external contractors on complex projects.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior technicians when required.
Required Skills
- EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing commercial HVAC systems
- Strong understanding of electrical schematics and control circuits
- Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) and Energy Management Systems (EMS)
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree or vocational certification in HVAC technology
- NATE certification (North American Technician Excellence)
- Experience with specific brands of commercial HVAC equipment common in large corporate facilities
- Familiarity with local building codes and regulations in Florida
- Experience in a corporate or large industrial facilities environment
