Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our night shift team with a unique 7-on, 7-off schedule. This full-time position offers premium pay for your commitment to providing exceptional patient care during overnight hours. As a Night Owl RN, you will be a vital part of our patient care team, ensuring continuous high-quality nursing services and support during critical periods. This role demands excellent clinical judgment, critical thinking, and a proactive approach to patient health and safety. You will manage patient admissions, discharges, and transfers, administer medications, perform treatments, and collaborate closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to maintain our high standards of care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care plans during night shifts.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, accurately documenting all actions and patient responses.
- Monitor and observe patients' conditions, promptly reporting any changes or adverse reactions to the medical team.
- Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and execute comprehensive patient care plans.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all patient data, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic health record.
- Educate patients and their families on health conditions, medications, and self-care techniques as appropriate.
- Respond to emergencies and provide immediate, effective interventions.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development activities to maintain licensure and enhance skills.
Required Skills
- Current Colorado RN license in good standing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team during night shifts
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Specialty certification relevant to area of practice (e.g., CCRN, CEN)
- Experience in a similar 7-on, 7-off schedule
- Experience working with diverse patient populations
