Job Description

We are actively seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Finished Products Chemist to join our team in Little Rock, AR. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and non-routine chemical and physical testing on finished products according to established ASTM, ISO, and internal methods.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment such as spectrophotometers, viscometers, pH meters, and chromatography systems.
  • Analyze test results, interpret data, and prepare detailed reports, ensuring accuracy and adherence to specifications.
  • Investigate out-of-specification results, identify root causes, and propose corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with production, R&D, and quality assurance teams to resolve quality issues and improve product performance.
  • Develop and validate new test methods and procedures as needed.
  • Maintain meticulous laboratory records, logbooks, and databases in compliance with GLP/GMP standards.
  • Ensure all laboratory activities are conducted safely and in accordance with company safety policies and environmental regulations.
  • Participate in internal and external audits as required.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a quality control or analytical laboratory setting, preferably within the coatings, paint, or chemical manufacturing industry.
  • Proficiency in various analytical techniques, including spectroscopy (FTIR, UV-Vis), chromatography (GC, HPLC), and physical testing (viscosity, density, hardness).
  • Strong understanding of statistical process control and quality assurance principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Chemistry or a related field.
  • Experience with LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System).
  • Knowledge of paint and coatings formulations and raw materials.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management systems.
  • Experience in method development and validation.
