Job Description
We are actively seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Finished Products Chemist to join our team in Little Rock, AR. This high-demand role offers the unique opportunity to contribute significantly to the quality assurance and development of our world-class coatings and paint products. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting comprehensive testing and analysis of finished goods, ensuring they meet rigorous quality standards and specifications before release to the market. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and non-routine chemical and physical testing on finished products according to established ASTM, ISO, and internal methods.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment such as spectrophotometers, viscometers, pH meters, and chromatography systems.
- Analyze test results, interpret data, and prepare detailed reports, ensuring accuracy and adherence to specifications.
- Investigate out-of-specification results, identify root causes, and propose corrective actions.
- Collaborate with production, R&D, and quality assurance teams to resolve quality issues and improve product performance.
- Develop and validate new test methods and procedures as needed.
- Maintain meticulous laboratory records, logbooks, and databases in compliance with GLP/GMP standards.
- Ensure all laboratory activities are conducted safely and in accordance with company safety policies and environmental regulations.
- Participate in internal and external audits as required.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a quality control or analytical laboratory setting, preferably within the coatings, paint, or chemical manufacturing industry.
- Proficiency in various analytical techniques, including spectroscopy (FTIR, UV-Vis), chromatography (GC, HPLC), and physical testing (viscosity, density, hardness).
- Strong understanding of statistical process control and quality assurance principles.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Chemistry or a related field.
- Experience with LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System).
- Knowledge of paint and coatings formulations and raw materials.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management systems.
- Experience in method development and validation.
