Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our General Medical Floor team at HCA Florida Trinity Hospital. In this full-time role, you will provide direct patient care, manage patient recovery, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest quality outcomes. Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring for effectiveness and adverse reactions.
- Monitor patients' vital signs, interpret data, and respond to changes in patient condition.
- Document all aspects of patient care accurately and thoroughly in the electronic health record.
- Educate patients and their families about health conditions, medications, and self-care techniques.
- Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and facilitate discharge planning.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by adhering to infection control policies and procedures.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development activities to maintain clinical competency.
Required Skills
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Florida.
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire).
- Excellent clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- 2+ years of experience as an RN on a medical-surgical or general medical floor.
- Specialty certification relevant to medical-surgical nursing (e.g., CMSRN).
- Experience with telemetry monitoring.
