Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Part-time In-Home Care Aide with medical training to join our weekend roster in Winston-Salem, NC. This vital role involves providing direct personal care, companionship, and support to our patients, ensuring their comfort and well-being. The ideal candidate will possess a strong sense of empathy, reliability, and the foundational medical knowledge necessary to assist with various aspects of in-home care. Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Assist with safe patient transfers and mobility support.
- Administer medication reminders as per care plan.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding, if necessary.
- Monitor and record vital signs and report any significant changes to supervising nurse.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to patients.
- Accurately document services provided and patient observations.
- Adhere to all patient care plans, company policies, and relevant health regulations.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
Required Skills
- Current CNA certification or equivalent medical training/certification required.
- Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate and patient-centered care.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
- Ability to lift, transfer, and reposition patients as required.
- Basic understanding of medical terminology and vital sign monitoring.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Must be available to work weekend shifts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as an In-Home Care Aide, CNA, or similar role.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Experience with patients requiring specialized care (e.g., dementia, post-operative).
- Fluency in multiple languages is a plus.
