Job Description
Are you a night owl with a passion for exceptional guest service? Hilton Aberdeen Treetops is looking for a dedicated Night Guest Service Assistant to join our vibrant team. This pivotal role involves providing a seamless and secure experience for our guests during the overnight hours, ensuring their comfort and safety are paramount. You will be an integral part of our front office operation, handling all guest inquiries, managing check-ins and check-outs, and ensuring the smooth running of the hotel through the night. Your ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and maintain a welcoming atmosphere will be key to your success. This is a full-time position working 12-hour shifts on a 4 days on, 4 days off rotation, offering a consistent schedule that allows for excellent work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and check-in guests efficiently during late arrivals, processing payments and assigning rooms.
- Handle all guest queries and requests, providing accurate information and resolving any issues promptly and courteously.
- Conduct night audit procedures, balancing daily transactions and preparing reports for morning management.
- Monitor hotel security, ensuring the safety of guests and premises throughout the night.
- Perform administrative tasks such as answering phones, responding to emails, and maintaining guest records.
- Manage wake-up calls and assist with any early morning guest departures.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure a coordinated and efficient service.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and professional front desk area.
Required Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong customer service orientation with a friendly and professional demeanour.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions in a calm and effective manner.
- Proficiency in basic computer systems (e.g., MS Office, hotel PMS).
- Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform light lifting if required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a hotel front office or a similar guest service role.
- Familiarity with hotel property management systems (PMS) like OnQ.
- Knowledge of local attractions and amenities in Aberdeen.
- Additional language skills are a plus.
