Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and versatile General Utility Hand to provide comprehensive support across all warehouse operations. In this vital role, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of our distribution center. This includes material handling, general maintenance, cleaning, and assisting various departments as needed. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are reliable, hardworking, and eager to contribute to a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment. No prior experience is required; we provide on-the-job training.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general warehouse duties including loading, unloading, sorting, and moving products and materials.
- Operate various material handling equipment safely, such as pallet jacks and hand trucks (training provided).
- Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the warehouse, including sweeping, mopping, and waste disposal.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, including counting, labeling, and stock rotation.
- Support shipping and receiving operations by preparing orders, checking for accuracy, and stacking items.
- Conduct routine checks on equipment and report any malfunctions or safety hazards.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize workflow and productivity.
- Perform other utility tasks as assigned to support overall warehouse operations.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) regularly.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods.
- Excellent work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Basic understanding of safety procedures or willingness to learn.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution setting.
- Familiarity with inventory systems or material handling equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
