Job Description
We are seeking a highly knowledgeable and passionate Digital Music Curator to manage and optimize our music catalog and playlist offerings. You will be responsible for identifying emerging trends, curating diverse playlists, and ensuring high-quality metadata across our platform. Your work will directly impact user engagement and retention by providing compelling and personalized music experiences. This position is 100% remote, allowing you to work from anywhere within El Salvador.
Key Responsibilities
- Curate and maintain a wide range of official playlists across various genres, moods, and activities.
- Monitor global and local music trends, artist releases, and cultural shifts to inform curation strategy.
- Collaborate with content, editorial, and marketing teams to support campaigns and new feature launches.
- Analyze listener data and performance metrics to optimize playlist effectiveness and discoverability.
- Ensure accuracy and consistency of music metadata, including genre tags, artist information, and release dates.
- Identify and champion emerging artists and tracks suitable for feature placement.
- Provide insights and feedback on user listening habits to product development teams.
- Stay up-to-date with industry news, competitor strategies, and advancements in digital music curation.
Required Skills
- Proven passion and deep knowledge of multiple music genres and subgenres.
- Strong understanding of digital music platforms and streaming service ecosystems.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities.
- Proficiency with content management systems and digital tools.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Music, Media Studies, Communications, or a related field.
- Demonstrable experience working with digital audio workstations (DAWs) or music editing software.
- Familiarity with Spotify's platform features and algorithms.
- Experience in a similar role within a record label, music publication, or another streaming service.
- Multilingual abilities are a plus, particularly Spanish given the location.
