Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Pharmaceutical Chemist to join our cutting-edge biotech team in Wesley Chapel, Florida. Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute synthetic routes for the production of target molecules and intermediates.
- Perform purification of compounds using various chromatographic techniques (HPLC, flash chromatography, etc.).
- Conduct comprehensive analytical characterization of compounds using techniques such as NMR, MS, FTIR, and UV-Vis.
- Develop and validate analytical methods for raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
- Contribute to the formulation development of new drug candidates.
- Maintain meticulous laboratory records, notebooks, and adhere to GLP/GMP standards.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including biologists, pharmacologists, and engineers.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and contribute to scientific publications.
- Operate and maintain sophisticated laboratory equipment.
Required Skills
- Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field (M.Sc. with significant experience will be considered).
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in synthetic organic chemistry within a pharmaceutical or biotechnology setting.
- Proficiency in advanced purification techniques (HPLC, LC-MS).
- Expertise in structural elucidation using NMR, MS, and other spectroscopic methods.
- Strong understanding of cGMP/GLP regulations and pharmaceutical quality systems.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex scientific problems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-doctoral experience in a relevant area.
- Experience with process development and scale-up.
- Familiarity with HTS (High-Throughput Screening) and parallel synthesis techniques.
- Knowledge of drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics principles.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis software and data interpretation.
