Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join a thriving private practice affiliated with Augusta University Health in Augusta, Georgia. This position offers a unique opportunity to provide comprehensive primary care services to patients across the lifespan in an outpatient setting. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and health education, working autonomously within a collaborative team environment. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and health assessments for patients of all ages.
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses, injuries, and health conditions.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests, including labs and imaging studies.
- Develop and implement individualized patient care plans, including medication management and therapeutic interventions.
- Provide health maintenance, preventive care, and health promotion counseling.
- Educate patients and families on disease management, treatment options, and healthy lifestyle choices.
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records (EHR).
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and professional development activities.
- Prescribe medications and other treatments as per state and federal regulations.
Required Skills
- Current, unencumbered Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) license in Georgia.
- Current DEA registration.
- Master's or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from an accredited program.
- Board Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (AANP or ANCC).
- Demonstrated clinical proficiency in primary care settings, including patient assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse patient populations.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to patient-centered care and evidence-based practice.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with specific EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
- Bilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish) is a plus.
- Experience in a private practice or outpatient clinic setting.
- BLS/ACLS certification.
- Prior experience mentoring or precepting nursing students.
