Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized, efficient, and compassionate Mobile IV Therapy Dispatcher to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial for coordinating and optimizing the deployment of our mobile IV therapy units, ensuring timely and effective patient care across the Burlington area. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess excellent communication skills, and have a strong administrative background, preferably in a healthcare setting. You will be the central point of contact, managing schedules, responding to urgent requests, and ensuring seamless operations for our mobile healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently manage and dispatch mobile IV therapy units to patient locations based on urgency, proximity, and staff availability.
- Serve as the primary communication hub between patients, mobile healthcare providers, and administrative staff.
- Maintain real-time tracking of mobile units and update schedules as necessary.
- Handle incoming patient calls, assess needs, and coordinate appropriate service delivery.
- Ensure all necessary patient information and service details are accurately documented and communicated.
- Troubleshoot and resolve logistical challenges to maintain service continuity.
- Collaborate with medical staff to prioritize urgent requests and manage emergency dispatch procedures.
- Assist with administrative tasks, including scheduling, record-keeping, and report generation.
- Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and maintain strict patient confidentiality.
- Provide exceptional customer service and support to both patients and clinical staff.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a dispatch or administrative role, preferably in healthcare.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in using dispatch software, scheduling tools, and standard office applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
- Knowledge of the Burlington, VT geographic area for efficient navigation and dispatching.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field.
- Experience with medical terminology and healthcare systems (e.g., EMR/EHR).
- Familiarity with mobile healthcare operations or emergency medical services dispatch.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
