Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Fruit Sizing Assistant with a strong focus on Quality Control to join our distribution centre team in Bristol. In this essential role, you will be responsible for accurately sizing, sorting, and inspecting a variety of fruits to ensure they meet Tesco’s stringent quality standards before being dispatched to stores. This position is crucial in maintaining the freshness and premium quality of our produce, directly impacting customer satisfaction. You will work within a fast-paced environment, requiring precision and a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately sort and size various types of fruits according to specified criteria and guidelines.
- Conduct thorough visual inspections for defects, blemishes, ripeness, and consistency.
- Remove any fruit that does not meet quality standards, ensuring only premium produce is processed.
- Operate and monitor sizing machinery and equipment, performing basic maintenance checks as required.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
- Record data related to fruit quality, sizing, and rejections accurately.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow and production targets are met.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or quality issues to the appropriate personnel promptly.
Required Skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify subtle differences in fruit quality and size.
