Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated UPS Knowledge Graph Associate with a strong data focus to join our innovative team. This is a 100% remote position, allowing you to contribute to our global efforts from anywhere. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining knowledge graphs that integrate diverse data sources across UPS’s complex operational landscape. You will apply your expertise in data modeling, ontology development, and semantic technologies to unlock deeper insights, support advanced analytics, and drive AI/ML initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a passion for transforming raw data into structured, interconnected knowledge that empowers data-driven decision-making and operational improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable knowledge graphs to represent complex relationships within UPS data (e.g., logistics, customer, operations).
  • Integrate heterogeneous data sources into the knowledge graph, ensuring data consistency and quality.
  • Perform data modeling, ontology development, and schema management using semantic web standards (RDF, OWL, SHACL).
  • Develop and optimize SPARQL queries for data extraction, analysis, and reasoning.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, data engineers, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into knowledge graph solutions.
  • Implement data governance policies and best practices for knowledge graph assets.
  • Evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies for knowledge graph development and deployment.
  • Provide technical expertise and mentorship on knowledge graph concepts and applications.

Required Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in data engineering, data modeling, or knowledge graph development.
  • Proficiency with knowledge graph technologies, including RDF, OWL, and SPARQL.
  • Strong programming skills in Python or Java.
  • Experience with graph databases (e.g., Neo4j, Amazon Neptune, ArangoDB) and relational databases.
  • Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
  • Experience with data integration techniques and ETL processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their data services.
  • Familiarity with machine learning, natural language processing (NLP), or AI applications.
  • Prior experience in the logistics or supply chain industry.
  • Knowledge of enterprise data warehousing and big data ecosystems (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
