Job Description

Join UPS as a Material Handler and become an essential part of our world-class logistics operation in Montrose, Glendale. This role offers verified stable shifts, providing you with a consistent schedule from day one. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for the efficient movement, sorting, and loading/unloading of packages and freight within our facility. This is a crucial role that ensures packages arrive at their destinations on time, supporting the backbone of global commerce. We are looking for motivated individuals who are ready to start immediately, are committed to safety, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. No prior experience is required, as comprehensive training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Load and unload packages and freight from trailers and containers by hand or with material handling equipment.
  • Sort and stage packages according to destination or other specified categories.
  • Scan packages and input data into the system accurately.
  • Operate pallet jacks, forklifts, or other equipment as required (training provided if necessary).
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned to ensure efficient operations.
  • Handle packages with care to prevent damage and ensure secure delivery.

Required Skills

  • Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 70 lbs regularly.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
  • Basic communication skills (reading, writing, and speaking English).

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment (not required, but a plus).
  • Experience operating material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts).
