Job Description
Join XPO Logistics as a Regional Flatbed Driver and become a vital part of our specialized transportation team. This role offers the opportunity to operate state-of-the-art flatbed equipment, transporting a variety of materials across a dedicated regional route. Key Responsibilities
- Operate flatbed trucks safely and efficiently on regional routes.
- Secure diverse cargo types using appropriate tie-downs, chains, binders, and tarps according to company and DOT regulations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, documenting any issues and ensuring vehicle readiness.
- Manage and maintain accurate logs (ELD), paperwork, and trip sheets.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members regarding delivery schedules and potential delays.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Provide exceptional customer service during loading and unloading operations.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A)
- Minimum 2 years of verifiable commercial flatbed driving experience
- Proficient in securing various types of cargo, including oversized loads if applicable
- Expertise in tarping loads effectively and efficiently
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no serious violations
- Ability to pass DOT physical, drug screen, and background check
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety protocols
- Physical ability to lift, pull, push, and climb to secure loads and operate equipment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with electronic logging devices (ELDs)
- Hazmat endorsement
- Tanker endorsement
- High school diploma or GED
