Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and compassionate Community Pharmacy Technician to join our friendly team in Overland Park, KS. Key Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in dispensing prescriptions accurately and efficiently.
- Process prescription requests, including data entry and insurance claims.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and rotating medications.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing patient inquiries and concerns with empathy and professionalism.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment.
- Operate pharmacy equipment and computer systems effectively.
- Adhere to all state and federal regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Assist patients with locating over-the-counter medications and health products.
- Handle cash register transactions and manage patient co-payments.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Current Pharmacy Technician certification in Kansas (or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Knowledge of pharmacy laws and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a retail or community pharmacy setting.
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or NHA).
- Experience with pharmacy management software systems.
- Fluency in additional languages (e.g., Spanish).
