Job Description
Incyte is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Biotech Laboratory Specialist with a strong focus on genetic research to join our dynamic R&D team in Wilmington, Delaware. This role demands a dedicated professional capable of performing complex molecular and cellular biology experiments, specifically tailored to genetic analysis and manipulation. Key Responsibilities
- Design, execute, and analyze complex genetic and molecular biology experiments.
- Perform DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, qPCR, Western blotting, and sequencing.
- Conduct cell culture maintenance, transfections, and viral transductions.
- Operate and maintain advanced laboratory equipment, including next-generation sequencers and flow cytometers.
- Accurately record, manage, and interpret experimental data using statistical software.
- Troubleshoot experimental protocols and optimize techniques for efficiency and accuracy.
- Contribute to the development of new assays and methodologies for genetic research.
- Ensure strict adherence to laboratory safety protocols and regulatory guidelines.
- Present findings to internal scientific teams and contribute to scientific publications.
- Train and mentor junior laboratory personnel as needed.
Required Skills
- Extensive experience with molecular cloning techniques.
- Proficiency in various DNA/RNA isolation and quantification methods.
- Expertise in PCR, RT-qPCR, and advanced sequencing methodologies.
- Demonstrated experience in mammalian cell culture and aseptic techniques.
- Strong understanding of genetic principles and gene editing technologies (e.g., CRISPR).
- Excellent data analysis skills, including statistical interpretation.
- Proficiency with laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced research environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, or a related field.
- Experience with bioinformatics tools for genetic data analysis.
- Previous experience in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry setting.
- Familiarity with automation platforms for high-throughput screening.
- Publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
