Job Description
We are seeking highly motivated and reliable Box Truck Owner Operators to partner with Amazon Logistics for last-mile delivery services in the New Port Richey, FL area. As an independent contractor, you will be responsible for the efficient and safe transportation of packages from our local distribution centers directly to customers’ homes and businesses. This is an excellent opportunity for entrepreneurs with their own 24-26 ft box truck to leverage their assets and expertise within a high-volume, well-established delivery network. We provide consistent volume and support to help you grow your business.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate your own 24-26 ft box truck for daily last-mile package deliveries.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal traffic laws and regulations.
- Load and unload packages safely and efficiently, often involving lifting and carrying.
- Utilize delivery routing software and handheld devices for optimal route planning and proof of delivery.
- Provide exceptional customer service during all delivery interactions.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and communicate any issues promptly.
- Ensure the cleanliness and operational readiness of your vehicle.
- Meet daily delivery targets and service level agreements.
Required Skills
- Must own or have access to a reliable 24-26 ft box truck (non-CDL required).
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Proof of current commercial vehicle insurance (cargo, liability, and physical damage).
- Ability to lift, push, and pull packages weighing up to 50 lbs unassisted.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with smartphone applications and GPS navigation.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Business acumen as an independent contractor.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in last-mile delivery, courier services, or freight transportation.
- Familiarity with the New Port Richey, FL area and surrounding communities.
- OSHA Forklift certification (if applicable for loading/unloading).
- Established DOT authority and MC number.
