Job Description
BayCare Health System is seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our Home Health team as a Home Health Aide in New Port Richey, FL. Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
- Monitor and report changes in patient health status to the supervising nurse.
- Take and record vital signs as instructed by the care plan.
- Assist with medication reminders under nurse supervision.
- Help patients with light housekeeping tasks, meal preparation, and errands.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment.
- Document care provided accurately and in a timely manner.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance clinical skills.
Required Skills
- CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain within first 30 days).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an empathetic approach.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions precisely.
- Compassionate, patient-focused, and reliable.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license with current insurance.
- Ability to lift and move patients safely as needed.
- Basic understanding of hygiene, infection control, and safety protocols.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Home Health Aide, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), or similar role.
- Certification as a Home Health Aide (HHA) in Florida.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Bilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish/English) to support diverse patient populations.
