Job Description

Are you a student with a keen eye for detail and a passion for technology? Microsoft is seeking enthusiastic and proactive Student App Beta Testers to join our team in Garland, TX. In this hybrid role, you will play a crucial part in the development cycle of our upcoming student-focused applications by providing essential feedback, identifying bugs, and ensuring a seamless user experience. Key Responsibilities

  • Actively test pre-release versions of student-focused mobile and web applications across various devices and platforms.
  • Identify, document, and report software bugs, glitches, and usability issues with clear, concise steps to reproduce them.
  • Provide constructive feedback on application features, design, functionality, and overall user experience.
  • Complete assigned testing tasks and scenarios within specified deadlines.
  • Input and manage test data accurately as required for specific testing phases.
  • Participate in regular feedback sessions and virtual meetings with the development team.
  • Adhere to confidentiality agreements regarding pre-release software and information.
  • Suggest improvements and new features that enhance the student user journey.

Required Skills

  • Currently enrolled as a student in a college or university program.
  • Strong interest in technology, mobile applications, and software development.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to spot inconsistencies or errors.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate feedback and report bugs effectively.
  • Proficiency in using common mobile and desktop operating systems (e.g., iOS, Android, Windows, macOS).
  • Ability to follow instructions meticulously and work independently.
  • Reliable internet access and a personal device for testing (smartphone, tablet, laptop).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with beta testing programs or providing product feedback.
  • Familiarity with bug tracking software (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps).
  • Basic understanding of UI/UX principles.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365 applications.
