Job Description
Deloitte is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Social Impact Associate with a focus on Community Research to join our dynamic Social Impact practice. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals passionate about leveraging data and research to understand community needs, measure impact, and contribute to meaningful social change. You will support senior consultants in conducting primary and secondary research, engaging with community stakeholders, analyzing qualitative and quantitative data, and developing actionable insights for social programs and initiatives. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the social impact sector within a leading professional services firm, working on projects that span various social issues and geographies.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and implementation of community research projects, including surveys, interviews, focus groups, and ethnographic studies.
- Collect, organize, and analyze qualitative and quantitative data related to social programs and community needs.
- Conduct literature reviews and synthesize existing research to inform project strategies and reports.
- Support stakeholder engagement efforts, including scheduling meetings, preparing materials, and assisting in facilitated discussions.
- Contribute to the drafting of research reports, presentations, and other client deliverables.
- Track project timelines, manage research data, and ensure data integrity.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to achieve project objectives.
- Participate in client meetings and workshops, representing the research findings effectively.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in data collection methods (surveys, interviews).
- Basic understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Public Policy, Non-Profit Management, Urban Studies, or a related field.
- Previous internship or volunteer experience in community development, social research, or a non-profit organization.
- Familiarity with statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R) or qualitative data analysis software (e.g., NVivo).
- Experience with GIS tools or data visualization software (e.g., Tableau).
- Bilingual proficiency (especially Spanish) is a plus for community engagement in Florida.
