Job Description
Georgetown University is seeking enthusiastic and reliable Part-time Student Staff to provide essential administrative, operational, and project support across various departments. This role offers a unique opportunity for current students to gain valuable professional experience, develop transferable skills, and contribute to the daily functions of a world-renowned academic institution. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing multiple tasks in a dynamic university setting. This position is designed to accommodate a student’s academic schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support including data entry, filing, scheduling, and correspondence management.
- Assist with departmental projects, research tasks, and event coordination.
- Manage office supplies and equipment, ensuring availability and functionality.
- Serve as a point of contact for inquiries, directing visitors and callers appropriately.
- Prepare documents, presentations, and reports using various software applications.
- Support team members with ad-hoc tasks as needed to ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and records.
Required Skills
- Current enrollment as a student at Georgetown University or a local D.C. area university.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated reliability and punctuality.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in an office or administrative support role.
- Familiarity with university systems or academic environments.
- Experience with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
