Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant to join our patient care team for full-time day shifts in New Port Richey. As a Nursing Assistant at BayCare, you will play a crucial role in providing direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Your commitment to patient comfort, safety, and dignity will be paramount as you assist patients with daily living activities, monitor vital signs, and maintain a clean and organized environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
  • Measure and record vital signs, intake and output, and other patient data accurately.
  • Document observations and care provided in the electronic health record.
  • Help patients with mobility, transfers, and ambulation.
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable patient environment.
  • Respond promptly to patient calls and requests.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
  • Provide emotional support and comfort to patients.

Required Skills

  • Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in Florida or equivalent.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Compassionate and patient-focused approach to care.
  • Basic computer proficiency for documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 6 months of experience in an acute care or long-term care setting.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
