Job Description
Are you looking for a flexible opportunity to earn money using your own vehicle? UPS is seeking enthusiastic and reliable Personal Vehicle Drivers (PVDs) to support our critical delivery operations. As a PVD, you will play a vital role in ensuring packages reach our customers safely and on time, especially during peak seasons and periods of high demand. This role requires individuals with excellent driving records, strong customer service skills, and a commitment to efficiency. You’ll be using your personal vehicle to make deliveries within a designated area, contributing directly to UPS’s renowned service quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate your personal vehicle to deliver packages to residential and commercial customers.
- Scan packages using a handheld device and obtain signatures when required.
- Load and unload packages from your vehicle efficiently.
- Follow assigned routes and delivery schedules.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and UPS safety guidelines.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and dispatch.
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle suitable for package delivery.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of your vehicle.
Required Skills
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Proof of automobile liability insurance.
- Ability to lift, lower, and carry packages up to 70 lbs.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to company policies.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays during peak seasons.
- Possession of a reliable personal vehicle (van or SUV preferred) that meets UPS requirements for size and appearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in delivery or transportation.
- Familiarity with the Oklahoma City metropolitan area.
- High school diploma or GED.
