Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Physiotherapy Aide with a focus on rehabilitation and sports recovery to join our team in Pueblo, Colorado. In this crucial support role, you will work under the direct supervision of licensed physical therapists, assisting in the delivery of high-quality patient care to our employees. Your primary responsibilities will include preparing treatment areas, setting up equipment, assisting patients with exercises, and maintaining a clean and organized clinic environment. This position is ideal for someone passionate about physical therapy, eager to learn, and committed to helping individuals achieve their rehabilitation and fitness goals, especially those recovering from sports-related injuries or requiring general physical rehabilitation.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment areas and sanitize equipment before and after patient use.
- Assist physical therapists with patient preparation for therapy sessions.
- Guide patients through prescribed exercises as directed by the physical therapist.
- Monitor patient responses during exercises and report observations to the therapist.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and inventory of the therapy gym and equipment.
- Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and processing paperwork.
- Assist patients with movement, transfers, and ambulation using appropriate techniques and devices.
- Provide compassionate support and encouragement to patients throughout their recovery journey.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions meticulously and work effectively in a team environment.
- Basic understanding of human anatomy and physiology.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, lift, and assist patients as needed.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications.
- Demonstrated empathy and a caring attitude towards patients.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a healthcare or fitness setting, preferably in physical therapy or sports medicine.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid.
- Knowledge of rehabilitation techniques and sports injury recovery protocols.
- Completion of a medical assistant or physiotherapy aide training program.
