Job Description
Join the UPS team as a Delivery Helper and play a crucial role in our daily operations! This entry-level position is perfect for individuals looking for a hands-on job where they can contribute to efficient package delivery without needing a driver’s license. As a Delivery Helper, you will ride along with experienced UPS drivers, assisting them with package handling, delivery, and pickup tasks on established routes in the North Side area of Pueblo, Colorado. Your physical stamina, attention to detail, and commitment to teamwork will be essential in ensuring timely and accurate service to our customers. Key Responsibilities
- Assist UPS drivers with loading and unloading packages from the delivery vehicle.
- Efficiently deliver and pick up packages on assigned routes, often walking to customer doors.
- Utilize a handheld device for scanning packages and documenting deliveries.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with customers.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Communicate effectively with the driver and dispatcher regarding route progress and issues.
- Organize packages within the vehicle to optimize delivery sequence.
- Help navigate and plan routes with the driver, ensuring timely completion of deliveries.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support daily operations.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift, lower, and carry packages weighing up to 70 lbs (without assistance).
- Ability to stand, walk, squat, bend, twist, and reach for extended periods.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Team-oriented mindset.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a physically demanding role or general labor.
- Familiarity with the North Side Pueblo, Colorado area.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
