Job Description

Bayshore Home Health is seeking enthusiastic and caring individuals to join our team as Home Companions. No prior experience is required – we provide all necessary travel and comprehensive training to equip you with the skills you need to succeed. As a Home Companion, you will provide essential non-medical support, companionship, and assistance with daily activities to our clients, helping them maintain their independence and well-being within the comfort of their own homes. This role involves travel to various client residences within North York and surrounding areas. Key Responsibilities
- Provide companionship and engage clients in stimulating activities such as conversations, games, or light walks.
- Assist clients with personal care needs including bathing, dressing, and grooming, as required.
- Help with meal preparation, ensuring nutritional needs are met and dietary restrictions are observed.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks, including laundry, tidying, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
- Support clients with medication reminders and appointments.
- Accompany clients to appointments, errands, or social outings, providing safe transportation or walking assistance.
- Observe and report any changes in the client's physical, mental, or emotional condition to the supervisor.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and client progress.
- Adhere to all Bayshore Home Health policies and procedures, ensuring client safety and privacy.
Required Skills

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to adapt to various home environments and client needs.
- Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Willingness to travel within the North York service area.
- Ability to pass a criminal record check and vulnerable sector screening.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a caregiving role (personal or professional) is an asset but not required.
- First Aid and CPR certification (training provided if needed).
