Job Description

Waste Management, Inc. is seeking dedicated and safety-conscious Waste Management Drivers to join our team, specifically for a vital public sector contract in the New Port Richey area. This role offers the stability of a government contract and includes a comprehensive pension plan as part of the benefits package. As a key member of our operations, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating collection vehicles to pick up and transport waste and recyclable materials. Key Responsibilities

  • Operate assigned commercial vehicle safely and in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies.
  • Collect and transport waste, recycling, or other designated materials from assigned routes according to scheduled times and service standards.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and equipment, documenting any issues or defects.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and customers to ensure efficient service delivery and address any service issues promptly.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly vehicle, both inside and out.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and safety procedures, promoting a culture of safety for oneself and others.
  • Complete all required paperwork and electronic logs accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure proper disposal of collected materials at designated facilities.

Required Skills

  • Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with an air brake endorsement.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the job (e.g., lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, climbing).
  • Strong commitment to safety and adherence to all traffic and company regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Waste Management Driver or similar heavy vehicle operation.
  • Knowledge of local routes and service areas in Pasco County, FL.
  • Experience working under public sector contracts.
  • High school diploma or GED.
