Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and physically capable Click-Floor Assistant to join our professional laying aid team. This role is crucial in supporting our flooring installation projects, ensuring high-quality workmanship and efficient service delivery. The successful candidate will assist lead installers with various tasks related to click-floor installation, including preparation, material handling, and site cleanup. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist lead flooring installers with the installation of various click-floor systems (laminate, vinyl plank, engineered hardwood).
  • Prepare work areas by clearing furniture, removing existing flooring, and cleaning subfloors.
  • Measure, cut, and fit flooring materials accurately according to project specifications.
  • Transport and organize tools, equipment, and flooring materials to and from job sites.
  • Perform site cleanup during and after installation, ensuring a tidy and safe environment.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain professional conduct on job sites.
  • Support the team in troubleshooting and resolving minor installation issues.

Required Skills

  • Basic understanding of flooring installation principles or general construction.
  • Proficiency in using common power and hand tools safely.
  • Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly.
  • Excellent attention to detail and precision in measurements and cuts.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience (minimum 1 year) in construction, renovation, or flooring installation.
  • Knowledge of different flooring types, their characteristics, and appropriate installation methods.
  • Experience operating forklifts or other heavy equipment (certification a plus).
  • First Aid and/or WHMIS certification.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is a significant asset for communication with diverse clients and team members in Montreal.
