Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic EA Sports Community Moderator with a strong focus on safe gaming to join our team in Santa Rosa, CA. In this critical role, you will be on the front lines, ensuring our vibrant EA Sports communities remain positive, respectful, and safe for all players. You will actively monitor discussions, respond to player inquiries, enforce community guidelines, and identify potential risks or harmful content. This position requires a keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for fostering a healthy online environment within the world of EA Sports.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively monitor EA Sports game forums, social media channels, and in-game chat for compliance with community guidelines and terms of service.
  • Respond to player queries, feedback, and concerns with professionalism and empathy, escalating complex issues to relevant teams when necessary.
  • Identify, investigate, and take appropriate action against harmful content, abusive behavior, and violations of safe gaming policies.
  • Collaborate closely with game development, legal, and player support teams to ensure consistent application of moderation policies.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of moderation tools, processes, and community guidelines.
  • Provide regular reports on community sentiment, emerging trends, and moderation activities.
  • Educate community members on safe gaming practices and responsible online behavior.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in online community moderation, customer support, or a related field.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong understanding of online safety principles and best practices for community management.
  • Proven ability to maintain composure and professional decorum in challenging online interactions.
  • Demonstrated empathy and a commitment to creating inclusive online spaces.
  • Familiarity with various social media platforms, online forums, and content moderation tools.
  • A genuine passion for video games, particularly EA Sports titles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Direct experience moderating gaming communities or working within the gaming industry.
  • Knowledge of relevant legal and ethical guidelines pertaining to online content and user-generated content.
  • Proficiency in additional languages relevant to our global player base.
  • Experience with crisis management or de-escalation in an online setting.
