Job Description

Are you a 14-year-old eager to gain valuable work experience, make a difference in your community, and have an unforgettable summer? The Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada is seeking enthusiastic and responsible Camp Counselor Trainees for our summer seasonal program in Henderson. This entry-level position is perfect for teens who are passionate about working with younger children, learning leadership skills, and contributing to a fun and safe camp environment. You will work closely with experienced camp counselors, assisting with daily activities, ensuring the well-being of campers, and helping to create a positive summer experience for all.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior camp counselors in supervising groups of children during various camp activities.
  • Help organize and lead age-appropriate games, crafts, sports, and educational sessions.
  • Act as a positive role model for campers, demonstrating enthusiasm, respect, and good sportsmanship.
  • Support the maintenance of a safe and clean camp environment, including setting up and cleaning activity areas.
  • Encourage active participation from all campers and help foster a sense of belonging.
  • Learn and adhere to all camp policies, safety procedures, and emergency protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with senior staff, reporting any concerns or issues promptly.
  • Attend all required training sessions and team meetings.

Required Skills

  • Must be 14 years of age at the start of employment.
