Job Description

Con Edison is seeking an Energy Sector Project Lead Trainee with a strong management focus to join our team in Yonkers, NY. This intensive training program is designed for ambitious individuals ready to learn the ropes of project management within the utilities industry. You will work alongside experienced professionals, gaining hands-on experience in project lifecycle management, stakeholder engagement, and operational excellence, all while contributing to vital energy infrastructure projects across our service territory. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning, execution, and closing of various energy-related projects.
- Support project managers in developing project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
- Participate in regular project meetings, track progress, and prepare status reports.
- Conduct research and gather data to inform project decisions and strategies.
- Learn and apply project management methodologies and best practices specific to the energy sector.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and regulatory affairs.
- Identify potential project risks and contribute to mitigation strategies.
- Document project activities, decisions, and outcomes accurately.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate communication and collaboration.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
- Demonstrated interest in the energy sector and sustainability.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- High level of initiative and a strong desire to learn and grow.
- Capacity to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior internship or academic project experience related to energy or project management.
- Familiarity with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Jira).
- Basic understanding of utility operations or infrastructure development.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CAPM) or coursework are a plus but not required for this trainee role.
