Job Description

Con Edison is seeking an Energy Sector Project Lead Trainee with a strong management focus to join our team in Yonkers, NY. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning, execution, and closing of various energy-related projects.
  • Support project managers in developing project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
  • Participate in regular project meetings, track progress, and prepare status reports.
  • Conduct research and gather data to inform project decisions and strategies.
  • Learn and apply project management methodologies and best practices specific to the energy sector.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and regulatory affairs.
  • Identify potential project risks and contribute to mitigation strategies.
  • Document project activities, decisions, and outcomes accurately.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate communication and collaboration.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated interest in the energy sector and sustainability.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • High level of initiative and a strong desire to learn and grow.
  • Capacity to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior internship or academic project experience related to energy or project management.
  • Familiarity with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Jira).
  • Basic understanding of utility operations or infrastructure development.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CAPM) or coursework are a plus but not required for this trainee role.
