Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented FedEx Custom Critical Aide with a High Level Support focus to join our dynamic team in Downtown Houston. In this crucial entry-level role, you will provide essential administrative and operational support to our Custom Critical division, ensuring smooth coordination and execution of specialized logistics requests. This position is ideal for an individual eager to learn the intricacies of critical shipping, develop strong problem-solving skills, and contribute to a high-stakes environment where precision and reliability are paramount. You will work closely with senior staff, gaining exposure to complex logistical challenges and contributing directly to our mission of delivering on promises.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the tracking and monitoring of critical shipments, ensuring real-time status updates are accurately recorded and communicated.
- Support the preparation and processing of necessary documentation for specialized freight, including customs forms and hazardous materials manifests.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams, drivers, and external partners to resolve immediate issues or discrepancies related to shipments.
- Maintain detailed records of operational activities, customer interactions, and service requests using proprietary systems.
- Escalate complex or unresolved issues to senior Custom Critical specialists for expert intervention.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying areas for process optimization and efficiency gains.
- Handle inbound inquiries and provide first-level support, directing complex calls appropriately.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies within daily operations.
- Perform general administrative duties as assigned, including data entry, report generation, and file management.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite)
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or some college coursework completed
