Job Description
Are you passionate about starting a career in healthcare but lack prior experience? DaVita Kidney Care is offering an exciting opportunity for individuals with no prior experience to join our team as a Dialysis Tech Trainee. This high-demand role provides comprehensive, paid on-the-job training to equip you with the essential skills and knowledge needed to become a certified Dialysis Technician. You will play a vital role in providing life-sustaining treatments to patients suffering from chronic kidney disease, directly contributing to their well-being and quality of life. We are looking for empathetic, detail-oriented, and dedicated individuals eager to learn and grow within the healthcare sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete an intensive training program to learn all aspects of dialysis treatment and patient care.
- Observe and assist certified Dialysis Technicians in preparing and monitoring dialysis machines and equipment.
- Learn to prepare patients for dialysis, including taking vital signs and documenting relevant information.
- Understand and practice infection control procedures and maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Gradually take on supervised responsibilities for patient care during dialysis treatments.
- Develop strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Strong desire to learn and embark on a healthcare career
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate and patient-focused demeanor
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Reliable and punctual attendance
- Basic computer proficiency
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous customer service experience
- Basic understanding of medical terminology (not required, but a plus)
- Bilingual skills (especially Spanish) are a plus
