Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and adaptable Substitute Music Teachers to join our pool of dedicated educators across various schools within the Denver Public Schools district. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and effective music instruction to students across various grade levels, following established curriculum plans.
- Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning and student well-being.
- Implement classroom management strategies to ensure a safe and productive learning experience.
- Follow the lesson plans and instructions left by the absent teacher, adapting as necessary.
- Supervise students in various settings including the classroom, hallways, and during school activities.
- Communicate effectively with school staff, administrators, and students.
- Ensure the safety and security of students at all times.
Required Skills
- Valid Colorado Teaching License or Substitute Authorization with a Music endorsement (or ability to obtain one).
- Bachelor's degree in Music Education or a related field.
- Proficiency in various musical instruments and vocal techniques.
- Strong classroom management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to adapt quickly to different school environments and student needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience teaching music in a K-12 setting.
- Familiarity with DPS curriculum and school policies.
